I'm happy to hear about the update Terry.
Well wishes are still in order, and I send mine to you and your good Friend.
quentin robburts has been on jw-net off and on for over 6 years and he is one of my oldest and most loyal friends.. his wife called me awhile ago and gave me the news.. quentin was rushed to the hospital's emergency room with acute renal failure and congestive heart failure.. .
this does not surprise me for the following reason.
his pain doctor put him on oxycontin last thursday.

i typically gave $$$ to the local kh and seldom gave donations to the society.. i always am amazed how some church going people have very little materially, yet make sure the church and the pastors are well taken care of..
I never did.
My former husband was the one. Always in check form and a generous amount.
A special one for the CO too. I now know it's called the 'green hand shake'.
I'm sure he has no regrets. As it helped him out of a few jams. Money well spent. LOL!

.
Mrs. Jones.
I remember the one about the Salt Flates too. Something I never new .
Also there was one were he went up to the top of the Tans America Buidling in The City. Or my, I have a fear of heights.
Another one was about the highest bridge in CA. While interviewing some walkers , he waived to a man riding his bike on the other side of the rode and ended up interviewing him. too. I loved his spontaneity.
His enthusiam was infectious, as was his smile.

Terrible! I love this Big Happy Man.
I just watched a show about the Pismo Beach Clams, they're bigger than a fist. I've learned so much about my State from him.
Very Sad...
i have come to this site for almost a decade.
even though i do not stop by much anymore, i wonder why it has not been upgraded or changed to a more modern format.
it seems like it has basically just been left to what it was upgraded to several years ago.
LOL Mr. Raven.
I would like to change my password though.
Looking forward to the new version.
here are a few of my favourites ,both film and stage , not in any order.
seven brides for seven brothers, movie.
oacklahoma ,movie.
Greetings 88JM
I did see the anit-smoking commercial after he died. That's how I found out he died and why . I love his voice too, there was such strength and unusal courage behind it. I find his Bio very interesting.
Another stong and interesting voice was Raul Julia. He played with Linda Ronstadt in Pirates of the Penzance. I loved him in Kiss Of The Spider Woman, and the Addams Family movies. He died to young.
I grew up with the sound track to My Fair Lady. I know those songs too. But as I aged I found the story kind of offensive. Have you seen the English version , no singing ?
Isn't Audry so beautiful? Loved her so much in Roman Holiday with the handsome Gregory Peck. After Dark was good suspence.

Hi Smiddy,
OK , I'm a hypocrite.
I do love the 'Sound Of Music', I know the words to every song. I grew up with the LP.
'The King and I' with the handsome Yul Brynner and Deborah Ker (sounds like car). I had the chance to see him before he died of lung cancer and I missed it. :-(
I love Funny Girl. The first 2/3 only.
As I said earlier, Caberet. I love doing my own renditions of Money and Mien Heir.
Singing in the Rain. One of my favorite Gene Kelly movies and a loved song. (he does excelent dramitc roles in Inherit The Wind and Blackhand)
i went to see it today - by myself (mr bee is on a golf junket).
i was glad that that i was by myself because i cried so much at the end, i wouldn't have wanted to be with anyone who wasn't crying - and that would not have been mr bee!.
les miserables the current film is adapted from what is considered one of the half-dozen greatest novels of the past 150 years and one of the longest novels ever written.
Musicals give me a bad rash. They suspend my imersion into the story. Who really bursts out sining their thoughts into song.
(except for Caberet, but that's part of the story)
I love the older versions that Berangira mentioned and an old black and white French one too.
I've read the book and found Victor Hugo's words so mesmerizing.
Oh and I skipped the play too, when I heard it was a musical. 'Le' Mis'... ok my pet peeve

one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?
if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.
I am so sorry gone for good.
I can not imagine losing a child this way.
I have lost my little brother . So I can undrstand a lttle bit.
But, your loss is so heartbreaking.

I know of 3 .
They were in the last 5 years or so.
One was a newly reinstated young man. He was Dfed for being gay and had just been reinstated. Very tragic, as he was so young and desperate to please the Borg.
The other 2 were Elders. It was such a complete shock . They were very loved and considered the nice guys. They had families. Tragic also.
